The trend continues this year with the film,” Mission Mangal”. Starring Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sharman Joshi, and known actress Sonakshi Sinha as well, Mission Mangal is a film based on the true story of scientists at the Indian Space Research Organisation who contributed to the Mars Orbiter Mission.
The film was announced on 5 November 2018, exact 5 years after the “Mars Mission was launched”. The film’s official trailer was released on July 2019 and has been received positively by the audience. Having delivered several consecutive hits, Akshay Kumar is on a spree. It will be very shocking if his dream run doesn’t continue after this film.
Mangalyaan, or also called as Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) is a space prob orbiting Mars. India’s first interplanetary mission, it became the world’s fourth space agency to reach Mars. The first three were Roscomos, NASA, and the European Space Agency. A revolutionary mission, it helped India and ISRO get some much-needed recognition.
The film is highly anticipated among the audience not only because of the story but also because of the fact that so many superstars will be seen on the big screen all at once. Also, with the recent launch of the mission, “Chandrayaan 2”, the interest in such activities is quite high among the people. With the film getting the added benefit of the extended weekend, the pundits are expecting it do super business at the box office.
Mission Mangal is not the only film releasing on that week. Another film with a huge buzz, “Batla House”, is releasing on that weekend. Starring John Abraham, the film is bound to give a tough competition to Mission Mangal. One thing is sure though, the audience is going to witness a lot of quality content on the big screen and ultimately that is what matters.
